The SWYA Tutors:
Debby teaches yoga in Devizes, Wiltshire, where she runs the White Horse Yoga Centre that she set up in 2012. Debby is also a qualified Pilates and Nia Dance teacher, and prior to teaching yoga, she worked as a professional actress. Debby has a background in education, having been a secondary school drama teacher, deputy head of sixth form, and a GCSE and A level examiner. She has also worked as an assessor of exercise instructors.
Debby’s yoga journey has led her through many ‘faces’ of Yoga from the very physical Ashtanga and Iyengar type practice that is found in many classes in the UK, to the more Vedantic approach within which she was given her spiritual name, Akasha, by Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati from the Bihar School of Yoga.
Debby’s teaching and practice continue to evolve and in recent years have been influenced by the teachings of Donna Farhi, John Stirk and Pete Blackaby.

“The days always fly by and I find it hard to believe that we manage to cover so much. I already have a qualification in exercise and fitness that included A&P. However the way you teach it makes SO much more sense! Brilliant!!”
